2 Tutor Crit.

Following my recent tutor critique I have become acutely aware that presentations are not my forte. My style is not the best, and for the sake of my future career it is something on which I need to work, refining my style, developing my techniques, polishing my presentations.

This experience meant I was unable to say all that I should have about my project’s journey. In future I plan to develop a set of bullet points as a memory aid, with the crucial pointers I need in order to more fully explain my project and reasoning behind its development explaining why things have been done, why specific media has been used or discarded.

The feedback I received from the tutors was that they agreed my pieces are of a more conceptual nature, and that if I plan to carry on with the delicateness of my samples it needs to documented. This will ensure that I have a history of its journey from its conception, how looked like in the beginning through to its completion.

I noted I wanted to keep pushing forward with my media processes. To possibly attempt working backwards, from delicateness towards creating a more solid piece to encase the fragility of my work. As well as initiating the development of trims, collars and sleeves etc.

In all I feel the process has been greatly beneficial to me. It has made me challenge my thinking, my self-evaluation. I am now in a much more positive position from which to drive forward my work, giving me a clearer direction for progressing media processes, to embark on working to develop and combine knit and media together.
