Discarding.

After experimenting with different media processes some have been rejected as unsuitable for the purposes required. Even though I felt they might have worked well in my drawings and sketchbook I tested a few bits out on piece of knit.

I have discarded the expanding foam element. The outcome it gave was too shiny and not raw enough to look broken away, therefore it failed to represent rust in any way.

Whilst testing with the plaster of Paris I decided that this medium wasn’t the right kind of substance, I found that it broke away too easily and wasn’t something that would slowly decay similarly as rust and the plaster.

I found 2 different designers with ideas I want to fuse together and test out. Taking the destruction of Miguel Misa surface texture and Chloe Glews idea of adding plaster on once off the machine. I want to test and see if I can mix these and create my idea of rust and fit my work somewhere in-between these designers, being more that just practical but inventive.
